RE: DISRUPTION AND DISLOCATION RESULTING FROM TRAGIC EVENTS ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
The events of September 11, 2001 in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania have resulted in the tragic loss of life and extensive property damage. These tragic events have caused massive disruption and dislocation. The Department is encouraging all insurers, banks, savings and loans, licensed lenders, insurance producers, real estate brokers, and any other person or entity subject to licensure or regulation by this Department to take into consideration the difficulties related to this tragedy that claimants and customers have endured and will continue to endure. The Department further encourages those it regulates to assist victims and people affected by appropriately relaxing documentation requirements, due dates for payments and late fees, and exercising forbearance on collection and cancellation activities.
The Department will continue to monitor this situation and issue further communications by bulletin or on our website, www.njdobi.org, as deemed appropriate. If any licensee or regulated entity has questions regarding this Bulletin, they may contact:
