Christie Administration Continues Season of Service As Department of Banking and Insurance Staff Serve Meals in Freehold

FREEHOLD As part of the Christie Administration’s fourth annual Season of Service, Department of Banking and Insurance Commissioner Ken Kobylowski and Department staff yesterday served lunches to local residents at Feed All God's Children, a non-profit soup kitchen at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, in Freehold.

“Feed All God's Children does tremendous work in assisting residents of the Freehold area throughout the year, and it was my privilege to work with them during this very busy season,” said Commissioner Kobylowski. “As a Monmouth County resident, I applaud the important and compassionate work Feed All God’s Children and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church are doing to help local residents meet their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter.”

Founded in 1702, St. Peter's Church is involved with many community outreach and service programs including a thrift shop; an after school tutoring program for children in the third, fourth, and fifth grades in Freehold Borough Schools; community suppers on the second and fourth Fridays of most months; a food drive; and an emergency housing program to provide shelter to homeless men in Monmouth County. Feed All God's Children serves approximately 40,000 meals each year.

The Christie Administration’s annual Season of Service activities allow Administration staff to perform volunteer work at various locations across the State to help New Jersey residents.  Continuing the success of previous service initiatives, this year’s November and December activities focused on serving New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents with a particular emphasis in December on drug addiction treatment and recovery.
