Another Chinese Delegation Visits DRBC

DRBC periodically receives requests to host delegations from other countries to discuss the commission and its programs. A delegation from the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) visited the commission on May 21, 2013.

Established in 1978, CRAES is affiliated with China's Ministry of Environmental Protection. As a national non-profit research institute, CRAES carries out innovative basic scientific research on environmental protection, concentrating on a national strategy of sustainable development. CRAES also provides strategic scientific and technological support to national environmental management and decision-making. Learn more at http://www.craes.cn/cn/english/welcome.html.

DRBC Deputy Executive Director Bob Tudor provided an overview of the Delaware River Basin and the DRBC along with a brief explanation of river basin management. Dr. Thomas Fikslin and Gregory Cavallo, P.G. of the commission's Modeling, Monitoring, and Assessment Branch discussed DRBC water quality programs and pollution control and identification efforts relating to PCBs.
