Pinelands Alliance Science Forum: June 3

DRBC Water Resource Scientist Dr. Matt Amato presented at the Pinelands Alliance's Science Forum: "Water - The Lifeblood of the Pinelands." Dr. Amato presented on "Carbon Sources and Impacts in the Delaware River Estuary." This work is connected to our ongoing efforts to improve dissolved oxygen levels in the Estuary. World Environment Day: June 4

The Delaware River and Bay Authority's (DRBA) World Environment Day Festival was held at Veterans Memorial Park in New Castle, Del. This year was the festival's 10th anniversary, and DRBC staff was excited to return to this well-attended community festival to join the celebration. Staff enjoyed chatting with attendees about our water resources resilience work, and appreciated everyone who took the time to fill out our climate survey. Kudos to DRBA for 10 years of hosting this fun, family-friendly and educational event!

N.J. Climate Change Research Symposium: June 10

DRBC staff presented a poster on "Advancing the Climate Resilience of Water Resources in the Delaware River Basin" at the N.J. Climate Change Research Symposium, held at Rutgers University. The poster reviewed our Water Resilience Planning Effort, which is currently in Phase 2. Thanks to all who stopped by to chat with us about our climate planning work!

American Littoral Society's Sunset on the Bay: June 13

DRBC intern Yutong Du represented DRBC at the Sunset on the Bay event hosted by the American Littoral Society. Yutong collected responses for DRBC's Water Resources Resilience Plan's Phase 2 survey, helping gather public input and spread the word about our climate resilience planning.

Mercer County Juneteenth Celebration: June 20

DRBC proudly sponsored the 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, hosted by the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County in partnership with N.J. Legislative District 15 (Senator Shirley Turner, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli) and Mercer County Executive Dan Benson. Staff enjoyed tabling here, chatting with attendees about DRBC's climate resilience planning and collecting survey responses.

DVRPC Water Table Happy Hour: June 23

DRBC intern Yutong Du also participated in the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission's (DVRPC) June Water Table Happy Hour event. It's always great to engage with folks about the work we do, especially as it relates to climate resilience planning.
