• 13' - Bank parking lot on New York side begins to flood.

• 26.4' - Record flood from Hurricane Diane, August 19, 1955.
• 22.2' - Rapid snow melt and heavy rain event of January 19 and 20, 1996.
• 17' - Lowland flooding begins.

• Record crest from the 1981 ice jam flood. Damage occurred to 950 structures, totalling 14.7 million dollars.

• 35.2' - This is the record flood from the remnants of Hurricane Diane in 1955. Widespread flooding with significant damages occurred on both sides of the river.
• 32.2' - During the flood of June 2006, flooding extended up to Metz Road and covered all of Milford Beach area. Several residences were affected. Mashipacong Island was evacuated, as well as 60 residences on River Road in Montague Township. The Dingman's Ferry bridge sustained damage and was closed.
• 31.7' - Dingman's Ferry bridge is closed at this level. Mashipacong Island has been evacuated in the past. Several properties are flooded on River Road in Montague Township, NJ.
• 26.7' - Inundation of agricultural and recreational areas nearest the river increases. Some evacuations took place on the New Jersey side of the river during the January 1996 flood.
• 25' - Minor flooding in the park near river gage.

• 30' - All Delaware Water Gap recreation resources are impacted, including natural and cultural resources, archeological sites, visitor use facilities, and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and utilities.

• 22' - Many local roads that connect to Route 209, River Road, and other park roads are closed.

Flooding begins in Riverside and Delran NJ. Flooding begins around Kern Street, Zeisner Avenue and River Road in Cinnaminson NJ. Flooding begins along the Pompeston Creek in Cinnaminson and Riverton NJ.

Flooding begins along NJ Route 49 and along Quinton-Alloway Road in Quinton Township NJ.

At this level, flooding starts to become severe enough to begin causing structural damage along with widespread flooding of roadways in the coastal communities of Sussex County and Kent County. Vulnerable homes and businesses may be severely damaged or destroyed as water levels rise further above this threshold. Numerous roads become impassable and some neighborhoods may be isolated. The flood waters become a danger to anyone who attempts to cross on foot or in a vehicle.
• 7' - MODERATE FLOODING. At this level, widespread flooding of roadways begins due to high water and/or wave action with many roads becoming impassable in the coastal communities of Sussex County and Kent County. Lives may be at risk when people put themselves in harm's way. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.
• 6.8' - DE Route 9 in Leipsic begins to flood in the vicinity of the Leipsic River. Flooding begins in Milford along the Mispillion River. Flooding begins in Broadkill Beach, including DE Route 16. Flooding begins in Rehoboth Beach along Surf Avenue and along the boardwalk. Flooding begins in Millsboro.
• 6.6' - DE Route 9 (Main Street) in Little Creek begins to flood. Flooding begins in Milton along the Broadkill River. Flooding begins along Fred Hudson Road and Salt Pond Road (both are just north of Bethany Beach).
• 6.4' - Flooding begins around the Mispillion Light and in Slaughter Beach. Flooding begins in Primehook Beach and along Primehook Road. Flooding begins along Bay Avenue, Cedar Street and Pilottown Road in Lewes. Flooding begins along Savannah Road (Business US Route 9) in Lewes in the vicinity of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal. Flooding begins in Oak Orchard, including River Road. Flooding begins in Long Neck, including DE Route 23.
• 6.2' - Flooding begins in Woodland Beach, Port Mahon, Pickering Beach, Kitts Hummock, Bowers Beach, Webb Landing, South Bowers and Big Stone Beach, and along the access roads into the communities. Kent County Route 107 near Barkers Landing begins to flood. Flooding begins at Old Landing on Rehoboth Bay. Flooding begins along sections of DE Route 1 between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach, including the Delaware Seashore State Park. Flooding begins in Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, South Bethany and Fenwick Island.

• 5.5' - ACTION STAGE

• 9' - The level reached on January 23, 2016. 
• 8.9' - The level reached on October 29, 2012 during Post Tropical Cyclone Sandy. 
• 8.8' - The level reached on September 27, 1985 during Hurricane Gloria. 
• 8.7' - MAJOR FLOODING. At this level flooding starts to become severe enough to begin causing structural damage along with widespread flooding of roadways in the coastal communities of Cape May County and Cumberland County. Vulnerable homes and businesses may be severely damaged or destroyed as water levels rise further above this threshold. Numerous roads become impassable and some neighborhoods may be isolated. The flood waters become a danger to anyone who attempts to cross on foot or in a vehicle.
• 7.7' - MODERATE FLOODING. At this level, widespread flooding of roadways begins due to high water and/or wave action with many roads becoming impassable in the coastal communities of Cape May County and Cumberland County. Lives may be at risk when people put themselves in harm's way. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.
• 7.5' - Flooding begins along Bay Avenue on the north end of Ocean City, along the NJ Route 52 causeway and from 34th Street to 55th Street in Ocean City, in Strathmere, on Sea Isle Boulevard leading into Sea Isle City, on Central Avenue in Sea Isle City, on Avalon Boulevard near Garden State Parkway Exit 13, near the NJ Route 147 bridge into North Wildwood, near the Ocean Drive bridge between Wildwood Crest and Cape May, on Beach Avenue and New Jersey Avenue in Cape May, and between Cape May and West Cape May. 
• 7.3' - Flooding begins along Landis Avenue in Sea Isle City (around 29th Street), around the Townsends Inlet Bridge (Cape May County Route 619) between Sea Isle City and Avalon, along Ocean Drive and Dune Drive in Avalon, around 96th Street in Stone Harbor, along Park Boulevard in Wildwood Crest and around Yacht Avenue in Cape May. 
• 7.1' - Flooding begins on the access roads to the 9th Street bridge into Ocean City (NJ Route 52), in the Haven Avenue Basin area of Ocean City (24th Street through 34th Street), along Ocean Drive (Cape May County Route 619) between Ocean City and Strathmere, in North Wildwood and in West Wildwood. Flooding begins in Fortescue and Maurice River Township in Cumberland County. 
• 6.9' - Flooding begins along the Delaware Bay shoreline from Reeds Beach to North Cape May. Flooding begins in Money Island and Gandys Beach in Cumberland County. 
• 6.7' - MINOR FLOODING. Flooding begins on the access roads to the NJ Route 47 bridge into Wildwood (including Rio Grande Avenue). Flooding begins along the road into Fortescue (Cumberland County Route 637) and in Bivalve.
• 6.5' - Flooding begins at the boat ramp in North Wildwood (the bay end of 5th Avenue).
