As of August 2008, there are changes in the procedures for the online registering of test administrators for the ACCESS for ELLs® English language proficiency test. As you know, ACCESS for ELLs® is New Jersey's required English language proficiency assessment conforming to the requirements of Title III of No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This assessment is administered annually in the spring to English language learners (ELLs). The ACCESS for ELLs® testing window is in the spring every year. ACCESS for ELLs® test administration must be conducted by certified teachers who complete an online training. Those educators who have already completed the online training are not required to do so again; however, it is required that test administrators of the kindergarten test complete the online training as changes have been made to the test. Anyone who took the previous kindergarten online training is no longer certified to administer the kindergarten assessment since the test format is completely different.
In the past, online training was conducted via the UW-Oshkosh Desire2Learn (D2L) platform for the ACCESS for ELLs® Test Administration Training. Please be advised that the current online training will no longer be using this platform.
The new training course for New Jersey is currently accessible via the WIDA Consortium website (www.wida.us).
All users will be required to create new accounts regardless of their status in the previous D2L course. To create your new account, simply visit www.wida.us and follow the procedures outlined below:
