2020 Students For Inspiring & Recognizing School Safety & Support Teams (F.I.R.S.T.) Conference

The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) is excited to announce that we will be hosting the Students For Inspiring and Recognizing School Safety and Support Teams (F.I.R.S.T.) Conference on June 12, 2020 to explore best practices, provide comprehensive approaches, and identify resources for school safety and support teams within local education agencies (LEAs) throughout New Jersey.  Through this unique forum, the Department aims to empower practitioners to create healthy, safe, and inspiring experiences to promote the success of all students.  The purpose of this conference is to:

  • Highlight effective school safety and student development practices currently implemented in schools across New Jersey
  • Inspire participants to continually improve and refine their school safety and student development practices
  • Provide collaborative learning environments for participants to explore and understand different models of effective program design and implementation that foster positive relationships between the community and law enforcement within local education agencies.
