Purpose: This Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) grant focuses on the HOSA CTSO. HOSA is a student organization, with chapters throughout New Jersey, that is focused on students preparing for careers in health and other allied medical professions. Participating students, through their local chapter, learn and practice leadership development, academic and technical skills and community involvement. Through this NGO, the successful grantee will provide statewide coordination and leadership in the development, management and administration of CTSO co-curricular activities, competitive events, award programs, student leadership activities and professional development for teachers and advisors. CTSO activities are aligned to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and industry standards. This CTSO program is a continuation grant, open to Middlesex County Vocational School District, the grantee awarded through a competitive process in Year 1. This NGO covers the second year of a four-year grant cycle. Based on the availability of state resources, this second year of the grant program will begin September 1, 2018 and end on August 31, 2019
