Per the requirements of N.J.A.C. 8:62-4, all trainees who participate in an initial lead training course, must successfully pass a hands-on skills assessment evaluation. Below are links to the Department's model hands-on assessment skill evaluations.
To fulfill the hands-on assessment requirements, you may use the examples listed below or submit a hands-on assessment procedure developed by your agency for this requirement. At a minimum, these evaluations must include a procedure for the evaluation of each trainees' comprehension and understanding of the required hands-on work practices and be non-subjective in assigning pass/fail values to each item. Students may work as a group, however, each student must be assessed individually.
