Developmental Center residents have intensive needs related to their developmental disabilities, and many also have co-occurring mental health, behavioral health and/or medical needs. The Division of Developmental Disabilities currently administers five residential developmental centers, with a total census of 1,429 as of 3/31/2017.

Green Brook Regional Center is the only specialized geriatric center among the five developmental centers. It provides residential and habilitation services for men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities 55 years of age and older.
