2026 Public Forums

Once a year, the State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) in collaboration with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) hosts public forums to provide information on available services for individuals with disabilities and receive input from the community. This year, we are holding three virtual sessions:

  • April 30, 2026 from 6pm - 7:30pm
  • May 13, 2026 from 3pm - 4:30pm
  • June 2, 2026 from 11am - 12:30pm

These listening sessions are a way for the SRC and DVRS to hear directly from you. Prior to opening for public comment, DVRS staff will provide a brief overview of DVRS services. Please see “Help us improve our services” below for more information about the kinds of feedback that we are seeking. The registration links for the three sessions are found under “Dates and Registration” below (please note the deadlines for each session).  

The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), which supports, advises, and collaboratively problem solves with the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), wants to hear from you about such things as:

  • Your experience with accessing and/or receiving DVRS services
  • How they can increase awareness of DVRS services
  • Whether you achieved what you were hoping to achieve through DVRS
  • The benefits of students receiving Pre-Employment Transition Supports (Pre-ETS)
  • The process of transitioning from school to DVRS services
  • Suggestions you have for improving access to DVRS and or how services are delivered

The purpose of these virtual (web-based) forums is for the SRC hear from you; to get from members of the public their perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services in New Jersey as experienced by them and their loved ones.

Members of the SRC will be present at each of the public forums, as will DVRS leadership, to invite and listen to your remarks. Written comments can also be submitted at registration or to the SRC Chair directly at cslivinski@dawncil.org. All written and verbal information received will be used by the SRC to help craft its on-going efforts with DVRS to ensure New Jersey has a rehabilitation program that is comprehensive, consumer responsive, and effective.
