- News Release -

TRENTON, March 15, 2011 – Valuable economic intelligence, presented in a more accessible and usable format, is what “N.J. Labor Market Views” offers. This new series begins today with the article, “Population Keeps Growing in the Most Densely Populated State.”

“Too often we are inundated by a deluge of economic information and data that can get in the way of understanding the economy, identifying trends or making sense of what is going on in New Jersey labor markets” said Labor Commissioner Harold J. Wirths. “‘N.J. Labor Market Views’ will help remedy that situation and bring this economic intelligence into focus.”

The new series of Web-accessible articles will cover a wide range of labor market issues and demographic insights.  “N.J. Labor Market Views” will look at issues such as New Jersey through the lens of the 2010 Census; the latest demographic pictures; state, regional and local employment and unemployment situations and snapshots of the state’s key industries, to name a few. “N.J. Labor Market Views” will help you keep New Jersey’s labor market situation in focus.

“N.J. Labor Market Views” will be produced periodically as news, data and analysis become available each month. The long-running “Economic Indicators,” a monthly print publication released by the department, will no longer be produced. But the data tables it contained still will be available monthly and the Web-publication of “Labor Market Views” will make more timely and relevant articles available for download.

Subscribers can sign up to receive email alerts when each new “N.J. Labor Market Views” article is posted. Send an email to njsdc@dol.state.nj.us and put “Labor Market Views” in the subject line.  A fast and easy link to “N.J. Labor Market Views” also may be found on the “Highlights” bar of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development homepage at http://lwd.dol.state.nj.us
