EAST ORANGE, August 25, 2011 – Commissioner Harold J. Wirths of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) recently joined leaders of JVS for a tour of its facilities to get a firsthand look at how the community-based organization delivers services to its clientele, which topped 21,000 last year.

Commissioner Wirths praised JVS for their service to the community and for their programs to help individuals gain the skills to get jobs.

Dr. Aaron Fichtner, assistant commissioner of Labor Planning and Analysis at LWD, joined Commissioner Wirths for the tour.
 

During a tour of the JVS facilities in East Orange, New Jersey Labor Commissioner Harold J. Wirths (center) had an
opportunity to greet students in an English as a Second Language class who are learning job skills. The students
in the class hailed from various countries and were eager to share what they learned. Commissioner Wirths
is flanked by Nancy Fisher, assistant executive director of Education and Training for JVS; and
Dr. Leonard Schneider, executive director of JVS.
