The new acute care hospital, located on a 50-acre campus off Route 1 in Middlesex County, created about 3,300 construction jobs while it was being built and consists of approximately 630,000 square-feet of interior space, including 237 single patient rooms. On May 14, Lt. Governor Guadagno and Commissioner Wirths toured the facility with Transportation Commissioner James Simpson, Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd and Human Services Commissioner Jennifer Velez, along with other local, state and federal officials.
The tour was kicked off by the launch of a new NJ Transit route, the 655 Bus line, from Princeton to serve the new medical center and other key area locations.
Funding for the new bus route is being provided through a public-private partnership.
