Information
On
January 14, 1979, Gary L. Fowler was arrested for two instances
of swindling and cheating while playing the game of blackjack at
the Resorts International Casino. His activities were recorded on
video tape and he had been warned by casino personnel about the
legality of past-posting of bets. On February 6, 1980, Mr. Fowler
entered a plea of guilty to two counts of committing larceny under
the amount $200 by swindling and cheating at casino gaming. Specifically,
Mr. Fowler past-posted two wagers each in the amount of $50 while
playing the game of blackjack. As a result of these illegal wagers,
Mr. Fowler won a total of $100 to which he was not entitled. His
plea of guilty was entered in Superior Court, Atlantic County, New
Jersey. On the same date, Mr. Fowler was sentenced on each count
to the Atlantic County Jail for a period of sixty days, the imposition
of which was suspended. He was fined $150 on each of the above described
counts and ordered to make restitution to the Resorts International
Casino in the amount of $100. Mr. Fowler executed a Waiver Form,
wherein he waived his right to contest the placement of his name
upon a list of persons to be excluded from licensed casino establishments
within the State of New Jersey.
Gary L. Fowler is not known to have any prior criminal record. On
January 14, 1979, he had been advised on several occasions to refrain
from making illegal wagers. |
