On
May 26, 1983, Scott Harris pled guilty to forgery in violation of
N.J.S.A. 2C:21-1(a)(2); uttering a forged instrument in violation
of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-1(a)(3); theft by deception in violation of N.J.S.A.
2C:20-4; and cheating and swindling in violation of N.J.S.A. 5:12-113(a).
These charges were the results of 13 complaints logged against the
respondent as a result of fraudulent activity which occurred within
several Atlantic City casinos. The defendant signed a waiver consenting
to the placement of his name upon the exclusion list at the time
of his guilty plea. On July 7, 1983, he was sentenced to three year's
probation and was granted enrollment in drug, gambling and alcohol
rehabilitation programs. As a condition of probation, he was to
refrain from entering any casino in the United States and was ordered
to pay $100 to the Violent Crimes Compensation Board. |
