George Remini is a "Capo" or "Made Member" (that is, a person that has been formally initiated into a particular organized crime family) in the New York City Gambino Crime Family. He is known to be actively involved in the furtherance of criminal activity for that organization. He is recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York City Police Department, the New Jersey Commission of Investigation and the United States Subcommittee on Investigations as a member of the Gambino Crime Family. In 1969 he was arrested, charged and pled guilty to possession of stolen property from interstate shipment. He was sentenced to three (3) years in federal prison. On January 10, 1992, he was found guilty of civil contempt for refusing to testify at the 1989 obstruction of justice trial of Thomas Gambino. He was sentenced to sixteen (16) months in federal prison. He is an active patron in Atlantic City.
