Four Masked, Armed Men Rob Union Tolls on Parkway
Hillside, N.J. – Shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning ,four masked men in a silver Chrysler 300 robbed the northbound toll plaza on the Garden State Parkway (This is known as the Union toll plaza). The left rear passenger showed a gun and robbed toll lane four in which the vehicle was stopped. The right rear passenger exited the vehicle and robbed the collector in lane one.
There were no injuries to either toll collector and a quantity of cash was taken from both toll booths.
Surveillance footage showed the license plate of the involved car. Following that information, State Police detectives located a silver Chrysler 300 at the registered address, but discovered that the car had the front plate removed and had not been moved for some time. It appears that the robbers stole the plate to apply to a very similar vehicle that they used for the robbery.
