New Jersey War Memorials Overview

“It's been said that these memorials reflect a hunger for healing. Well, I do not know if perfect healing ever occurs, but I know that sometimes when a bone is broken, if it's knit together well, it will in the end be stronger than if it had not been broken.”

Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United State of America
November 11, 1984

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs maintains three war memorials across the state to honor and remember the sacrifices of state residents who served the nation.

Each memorial is adjacent to major thoroughfares and are handicapped accessible.

“It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion.”

Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United State of America
November 19, 1863
