Wayne MVC Licensing Center Closes Temporarily After Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission today announced the Wayne Licensing Center will be closed until Tuesday, July 28, after an agency employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The decision to close for a week was made in consultation with state and local health departments. The Wayne Licensing Center will be cleaned and sanitized, and employees who were exposed to the employee who tested positive for the virus will quarantine for 14 days.

“The health and safety of our customers and employees is our top priority,” said Chief Administrator Sue Fulton. “We will monitor the situation at Wayne and work closely with health officials to reopen on July 28, once we have verified a safe and healthy environment for the public and MVC employees.”

While the Wayne Licensing Center remains closed, customers are advised that license transactions are available at nearby Licensing Centers in Oakland, Lodi, and Paterson.

Customers should visit NJMVC.gov for updates on the status of the Wayne Licensing Center, and all other MVC news.
