MVC Announces Closures for Bayonne, Eatontown, and Cherry Hill Centers

TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced that, effective immediately, the Bayonne Licensing Center, Cherry Hill Vehicle Center, and Eatontown Regional/Licensing Center have been closed, due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location.

The Bayonne Licensing Center will be closed until Tuesday, November 24. The employee who tested positive was last in the Bayonne Center on Monday, November 9.

The Cherry Hill Vehicle Center will be closed until Monday, November 16. The employee who tested positive was last in the Cherry Hill Center on Saturday, October 31.

The Eatontown Regional/Licensing Center will be closed until Friday, November 20. The employee who tested positive was last in the Eatontown Center on Thursday, November 5.

Eatontown Road Test Operations and the Eatontown Inspection Station will remain open, as they are in separate facilities.
Five other MVC Centers remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19. These Centers are listed as follows, and will reopen on the corresponding dates:

  • West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center – reopens Thursday, November 12
  • Oakland Licensing Center – reopens Friday, November 13
  • Paterson Regional/Licensing Center – reopens Saturday, November 14
  • Runnemede Vehicle Center – reopens Thursday, November 19
  • Trenton Regional/Vehicle Center – reopens Friday, November 20

Upon closure due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, MVC Centers are cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete.

As previously announced, all MVC facilities, including Licensing and Vehicle Centers, Regional Service Centers, road testing sites, and inspection stations, will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, in recognition of Veterans Day.

Customers are reminded to always log on to NJMVC.gov before heading out to an MVC facility, to get the latest updates, check the status of MVC locations, complete all available transactions online, make appointments for a growing list of license and vehicle transactions, and more.
