CUSTOMER ADVISORY

Wayne MVC Center Closed Until Feb. 5

TRENTON – Wayne Licensing Center is closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, and will reopen Friday, Feb. 5, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced.

The employee who tested positive was last in the Wayne Center Thursday, Jan. 21.

Road Test Operations at Wayne remain open, as they are in facility separate from the Licensing Center.

Five MVC Centers currently are closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location. These Centers are scheduled to reopen on the following dates:

  • North Bergen Licensing Center – Monday, Jan. 25
  • Lodi Licensing Center – Monday, Jan. 25
  • Edison Licensing Center – Friday, Jan. 29
  • Randolph Licensing Center – Monday, Feb. 1
  • Wayne Licensing Center – Friday, Feb. 5

Medford Vehicle Center and Salem Licensing Center will be opening tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 23. Both Centers will resume full operations after the closing of quarantine and full COVID-19 cleaning.

All MVC Vehicle Centers are open by appointment only, with no walk-ins allowed, while MVC Licensing Centers accept walk-in customers for first time permits, licenses, and non-driver IDs.

License/ID renewals that cannot be completed online require an appointment. Renewals are not available on a walk-in basis at Licensing Centers.

Appointments at Vehicle and Licensing Centers are scheduled at NJMVC.gov, with appointments added daily, overnight, up to 60 days in advance. Customers should check online after midnight and at multiple MVC locations to best secure an appointment.

If a customer can no longer make a scheduled appointment, the appointment should be canceled using the guidance in the confirmation email provided by the MVC upon booking, in order to open up the appointment slot for others.

Any appointments that are canceled due to a closure must be rescheduled at the website. Customers are notified by email when their appointment has been canceled.

Customers are reminded that most basic license and registration renewals and replacements can be completed online. Nearly 30 different online services and transactions are available at the MVC website.

Customers should log on to NJMVC.gov to check the status of locations, complete all available online transactions, schedule appointments, and learn more about MVC operations. Customers also can identify whether a license or vehicle transaction is available online, by appointment, or by walk-in using the “How do I…?” Cheat Sheet in the Quick Links on the MVC home page.
