New Jersey Motor Vehicle CommissionThe Motor Vehicle Commission has proposed new rules, Title to Vehicles Abandoned On Private Property. The proposal new rules establish the procedure required to sell a vehicle abandoned on private property at public auction and subsequently transfer title to the vehicle pursuant to the statutory authority found at N.J.S.A. 39:4-56.6.
The proposed new rules are published in the October 2, 2017 issue of the New Jersey Register. Copies of the proposal may be obtained on the MVC website, www.njmvc.gov; by mail or in person from the Motor Vehicle Commission, 225 East State Street, 9th Floor – East Wing, P.O. Box 162, Trenton, New Jersey 08666-0162; or requested by telephone at (609) 777-1407.
The public has until December 2, 2017 to submit comments with regard to this regulatory proposal.
