Traffic Updates

PLEASE NOTE
The legal speed limit has been reduced to 40 mph in the work zone and is strictly enforced by the New Jersey State Police and the Woodbridge Township Police Department.

December 2001 - June 2002
All traffic for Route 1 Northbound, Route 1 & 9 Northbound and Route 9 Southbound have been directed to their respective Diversion Roads as of December 8, 2001. This traffic pattern will be in effect for 6 months. The contractor has started the demolition of the existing Route 9 South Bridge. The proposed Route 1 Northbound Bridge will begin construction shortly after the demolition of the Route 9 South Bridge is completed.

August 2001 to August 2002
Route 1 & 9 Southbound traffic has been shifted to the right side of the roadway between the Route 35/Route 1 & 9 Interchange and the ramp for Route 9 South. This traffic shift closes the left lane for construction of the temporary North abutment sheeting for the Route 9 South Diversion Road. Route 1 & 9 South will remain two lanes in this area until August 2002.
