State Police Seeks Public’s Assistance with Investigation of Recovered Human Remains

Piscataway, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with the investigation of human remains, which were recovered on the shoulder of Interstate 287 in Piscataway, Middlesex County.

On Friday, May 1, at 3:24 p.m., an off-duty trooper traveling south on I-287 discovered human remains on the left shoulder in area of milepost 8.7. Members from the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene, Major Crimes, and K-9 Units, along with detectives from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene to investigate.

Detectives discovered a pair of blue and grey Nike men’s sneakers and a damaged black BCA FS Pro bicycle, which may belong to the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective I Adam Brozek or Detective Thomas Finnerty both of the New Jersey State Police Major Crime North Unit at 609-610-3816. Anonymous tips are welcome.

The case remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available at this time.
