Irvington, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with a fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle crash investigation that occurred on the Garden State Parkway on Monday, October 9.
Based on an investigation at the scene, detectives determined that at approximately 9:24 p.m., a 2004-2006 black Acura TL with an unknown New Jersey license plate was traveling northbound on Eastern Parkway in Irvington in the area of the 143C entrance ramp. A juvenile pedestrian crossed the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. Based on a witness account and surveillance footage, after the vehicle struck the juvenile, the vehicle continued north on the Garden State Parkway. The vehicle had front end, passenger side, and passenger sideview mirror damage
As a result of the crash, a sixteen-year-old juvenile male pedestrian of Newark, NJ sustained fatal injuries.
