Arrest Made In Camden Fatal Hit & Run From 6/2/12

Bordentown, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police arrested a Hainesport man as the result of the ongoing investigation into the fatal hit and run accident that occurred Saturday, June 2nd, on I-676 in Camden, N.J. Ronald Winzinger, 35, of Hainesport, Burlington County, has been charged in the accident that left a 29 year old Jackson (Ocean County) woman dead and three others injured.

On the evening of June 4th, Winzinger surrendered to troopers at the Bordentown Station. State Police detectives investigating the case, along with an investigator from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, charged Winzinger with Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident (2nd degree) and Hindering Apprehension (3rd degree).

The accident occurred on Saturday, June 2nd , at approximately 11:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-676 near Exit 4. The victim, Michelle MacInnes, 29, was in the rear seat of a Mazda that was stopped for traffic in the right lane.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the black Nissan Xterra being operated by Winzinger was traveling at an unsafe speed and struck the rear of the Mazda after changing lanes in an attempt to exit the highway. Winzinger stopped briefly following the collision but fled the scene shortly thereafter.

The Xterra was located under a tarp in a parking lot near Winzinger’s residence.

Winzinger has been lodged in the Camden County Jail in lieu of $75,000 full cash bail.
