Cities
and states across this country are evolving
into communities and neighborhoods of color,
in large part, due to the increasing number
of Latino citizens. As the landscape of New
Jersey changes, government too must change
to reflect the people it serves. For these
reasons, I am hosting a Latino Leadership
Summit.
I
invite you to join me at the Summit on Monday,
July 18, at the New Jersey Forensic Science
Technology Center auditorium, located at 1200
Negron Drive, Hamilton Township. (directions
are enclosed) The Summit will begin with a
tour of the facility from 9 to 10 a.m. The
program will be conducted from 10 a.m. to
12:30.
The
purpose of the Summit is to present information
about the various programs and services of
the Department, particularly those of interest
to the Latino community. Issues such as consumer
fraud, voting, gang violence, bias crime and
unequal treatment will be discussed. The Summit
is open to the Latino community, business
and industry and academic leaders, elected
officials and other leaders.
Joining
me at the Summit will be division directors
and employees from the New Jersey State Police,
Division of Criminal Justice Office of Bias
Crime, Division on Civil Rights, Elections,
Consumer Affairs, Insurance Fraud and Highway
Traffic Safety.
I look forward to seeing you at this important
program.
Thank
you. |
