IN TRACKING ROBBERY SUSPECTS
Port Norris - The New
Jersey State Police today announced that detectives assigned to
the Troop A Criminal Investigation Office, Port Norris Station,
are actively seeking leads and information surrounding the Fri.,
July 27 late morning armed robbery of the Hudson United Bank located
at 337 Main St. in Cedarville, Lawrence Township, Cumberland County.
According to DSG John
Schusler of the State Police Port Norris Station, the bank robbery
occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. last Friday when two armed
male suspects entered the bank and demanded money from the bank
employees. The suspects were dressed in coveralls and were wearing
ski masks to hide their identification. The two male suspects were
armed with what appeared to be automatic weapons.
The preliminary State Police
investigation has determined that once in the bank office, the suspects
ordered the bank employees to the floor while they stole an undetermined
amount of cash, remaining in the bank for approximately 10 minutes.
The suspects fled the bank using a bank employee's personal vehicle.
Bridgeton police officers recovered the stolen vehicle approximately
one hour later in a wooded area some five miles from the bank.
A bank surveillance
camera captured a photo of a vehicle parked outside the bank at
or near the time of the robbery. Detectives are attempting to identify
the owner/driver of the vehicle to determine if he/she may have
information pertaining to the ongoing State Police/FBI investigation.
A camera-ready copy of the vehicle photograph is available by contacting
DSG Schusler at the State Police Port Norris Station.
Persons with any information
about the driver of the vehicle, the bank robbery or with information
