1st Annual NJSP Top Physical
Challenge State Championship
Sea Girt, N.J. - More than 50 students assembled on Tuesday, June 5th to compete in the New Jersey State Police Top Physical Challenge
(TPC) State Championship. These athletes, ranging from grades 5-12, were invited from schools throughout the state to compete in this five event competition.
The Top Physical Challenge program was created in 2006 to show the importance of physical fitness as it relates to law enforcement. During the school
year, troopers visit schools throughout the state and talk to students about the importance of fitness. Students are then given a physical assessment that
consist of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, broad-jump, and a shuttle run. Students receive awards based on their performance. Students that achieve an overall
score of 100% receive a gold TPC coin and are invited to participate in the State Championship.
