Advocate Seema M. Singh Hails
Verizon’s Expansion of Major Operations in New Jersey
Newark, N.J. --- Ratepayer
Advocate Seema M. Singh issued the following statement on Verizon’s announcement
to expand and locate operations of its major business units and subsidiaries
in New Jersey:
“Verizon’s announcement to add and retain several thousands of jobs in New Jersey
for the expansion of its major business units and subsidiaries is truly good
news for the state,” said Ratepayer Advocate Seema M. Singh. “This is an important
step in maintaining New Jersey as a national center for telecommunications companies
and their related enterprises that are involved in cutting-edge technology.
I am very pleased that New Jersey consumers will benefit from keeping the telecommunications
service and expertise of a company like Verizon. Acting Governor Codey is to
be applauded for his leadership in helping to create an environment to bring
this about.”
The Division of
the Ratepayer Advocate is an independent state agency that represents the interests
