N.J. State Commission of Investigation
Organized Crime-Affiliated Sub-Contractors on Casino and Publicly-Funded Construction Projects
1986-87
This report was combined with the Commission's Annual Report for 1986.
It recommended centralization and strengthening of state and Casino
Control Commission procedures for prequalifying and disqualifying
prospective contractors and subcontractors. The investigative findings
demonstrated that two mob-operated companies had amassed millions in
revenues from casino projects and public works from which they should
have been barred. Bills which would extend Control Commission scrutiny
to subcontractors and casino license applicants were enacted.
