The Business Action Center coordinates statewide planning to protect the environment and guide future growth into compact, mixed-use development and redevelopment. The office implements the goals of the State Development and Redevelopment Plan to achieve comprehensive, long-term planning; and integrates that planning with programmatic and regulatory land-use decisions at all levels of government and the private sector.

Adopted Rule Amendment Extending Certain Center Expiration Dates:

The efforts of the Office of Planning Advocacy are currently focused on the Plan Endorsement process for those municipalities that have expressed an interest in extending their Center designation. If you are a municipality with a Center affected by this deadline, please contact the Office of Planning Advocacy at 609-292-7156 for more information.

Pursuant to its authority under N.J.S.A. 52:18A-203, the State Planning Commission (Commission) amended N.J.A.C. 5:85-7.21 to extend the expiration dates of certain plan endorsements and center designations issued by the Commission prior to December 31, 2009, beyond their otherwise applicable expiration dates. The amendment extended only those endorsements and center designations set to expire on or before December 31, 2019, to June 30, 2020. This extension gives the Commission time to work with the municipalities to continue their centers through Plan Endorsement.
