Research

Land use decision support requires good data and information. OPA's Research Unit supplies the office and agencies, non-profits and businesses statewide with mapping, demographics and analysis to fulfill this mission.

Research Tools

While all mapping and data for which our Unit is responsible is available through links on this page, our office has contributed mapping and data to a number of tools, and recommends others for decision support. These include:

Reference Materials

Publications

Documents listed as Technical Reference Documents were prepared by consultants or staff to inform deliberations of the State Planning Commission, and do not necessarily represent policies or other provisions, or their basis, of the adopted State Development and Redevelopment Plan or State Planning Rules.

For items that are out of print, reference copies are available for review at the Office of Smart Growth and at official New Jersey State document depository libraries.

Additional public information materials including newsletters, brochures and videos not listed in this catalog are also available from the Office. For more information, contact the office.
