New Jersey Farm to School Network Winter Conference
 

"It Takes a Village: Collaborations in Good Food and School Gardens" will be held at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing in Walter E. Edge Hall.  On Friday, the conference will touch on Farm to School projects, newly developed food products made from Jersey Fresh produce developed by Rutgers Food Innovation Center, the results of a Farm to School survey and the Campus Kitchen program.  Saturday's agenda will showcase school and community garden programs.

14th Annual New Jersey Animal Emergency Working Group Symposium

The symposium, Weathering the Storm, will be held at Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton for AEWB members, CART leadership and volunteers, animal owners, livestock enterprises, veterinarians, non-profit animal groups, and other animal organizations interestd in collaborating to develop and implementa a coordinated animal emergency response plan.

Discussions will include after-action reports from CARTs activated during Hurricane Irene and October snow storm; lessons learned from these experiences; shelter set-up -- a mock shelter exercise using CART sheltering materials.

Sustainable Opportunities through Soil -- Soil Health Conference

The second annual Soil Health Conference will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ocean County College's Community Arts Center, College Drive, Toms River.  The event, sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts, Ocean County Soil Conservation District, and the Barnegat Bay Partnership, is geared toward planners, engineers, developers, landscapers, conservationists, environmental scientists, educators, natural resource managers, municipal stormwater and public works staffs, and property managers.
