The SPIRIT of the JERSEYS State History Fair would not be possible without the support and assistance of many individuals and organizations. We would like to acknowledge and thank the following organizations for their generous support of our history fair programming.

The New Jersey Historical Commission was established by legislation adopted in 1966 (N.J.S.A. 18A: 73-21-25), which authorizes the Commission“to formulate and implement historical programs and publications, to improve historical knowledge, and to inspire public pride in the rich history of New Jersey.”

NJ Historic TrustThe NJ Historic Trust, established in 1967, advances historic preservation in New Jersey for the benefit of future generations through education, stewardship and financial investment programs that save our heritage and strengthen our communities.

Howell Farm is owned by Mercer County and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission with the support and assistance of The Friends of Howell Living History Farm. The farm is an educational facility open to the public that preserves and interprets farming life and processes from the era of 1890-1910.

General George Washington


Swan Historical Foundation – General Washington, Commander of the Continental Army, appears through the generous support of the Foundation. Dave Emerson portrays George Washington.


Dr. Pitney the Father of Atlantic City


The Batsto Citizens Committee, Inc. (BCCI) is sponsoring Michael Doyle who will portray Dr. Jonathan Pitney, the "father" of Atlantic City. The BCCI was founded in 1956 to aid the State of New Jersey in its development of Batsto Village as a historic site. Its purpose is to advise, assist and promote the restoration and interpretation of the historic & natural aspects of Batsto Village.

 

Mid Jersey Antique Car Club

Mid Jersey Antique Car Club AACA – is one of the oldest car clubs in NJ. Members, most of who have personally restored their cars, will be displaying a variety of cars from the 1920s through the 1950s.

 

Frank Attwood Portrays Thomas A. Edison

 

Lambertville Free Public Library is assisting in the sponsorship of Mr. Frank Attwood who will portray inventor Thomas Edison.

 

 

Litercy Volunteer of America

Literacy Volunteers in Mercer County (Hamilton) - founded in 1979, LV-MC trains, coordinates & supports the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteer literacy tutors.Volunteers provide free, confidential literacy tutoring services to adult residents of Mercer County at a variety of locations incl. public libraries, workplace sites, churches & retirement homes. The LV-MC will be sponsoring an Authors Tent featuring books on NJ history.

Travel and Tourism

The Division of Travel and Tourism is charged with fostering economic growth by increasing tourism expenditures and visitation, encouraging the long-term viability of New Jersey's precious natural resources, arts, historical and cultural institutions - all while presenting New Jersey as a premier travel destination.


Crossroads of American Revolution AssociationCrossroads of the American Revolution Association was founded in 2002 as the only state-wide non-profit organization established to offer a forum for new citizen initiatives on education, historical interpretation, site use and heritage tourism; and to raise popular appreciation of the historical significance of the American Revolution in New Jersey.
