In accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, NJSA 10:4-6, et seq., notice is hereby given that the State Rehabilitation Council of the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired has established their annual meeting schedule for Federal Fiscal Year 2016.  All meetings will be held at the Joseph Kohn Training Center, 130 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.  A call to order will occur at all scheduled meetings at 9:30 a.m. on December 4, 2015, February 5, 2016, April 15, 2016, June 3, 2016. 

 

 

Public Forum

The New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI), and its State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), will be conducting a public forum on June 11, 2016. 

The SRC was established in Section 105 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The SRC members are appointed by the Governor, and they give advice to, and work in partnership with, the agency’s leadership regarding the provision of services within the Vocational Rehabilitation, Independent Living, Blindness Education, and Eye-Health programs at the agency. 

The public forum will be held to gather input from consumers (present and former); professionals; community-based organizations; and other interested parties to receive comments on the proposed draft of the State Plan governing Vocational Rehabilitation Services at the agency, included in the Combined State Plan for New Jersey. Your concerns and comments are extremely important to us, and your feedback will assist in better serving blind, vision-impaired, and deaf-blind people who seek to obtain work, retain jobs, or advance in employment. Come make your voice heard.
