Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory
The New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA), Animal Health Diagnostics Laboratory provides diagnostics testing services to support disease control programs, health management and productivity of food and fiber producing animals, equine, fish, poultry, wildlife , companion animals and other pets The AHDL also has to be prepared at all times to be ready to perform testing in case of any disease outbreak scenarios. Testing is done in accordance with rules and regulations implemented by various regulatory agencies such as USDA, FDA, NAHLN, VETLIRN etc. following ISO standards, and includes molecular, serological, bacterial and virology testing. The laboratory tests for antimicrobial sensitivity of various pathogenic bacteria as part of its diagnostic testing menu. The instrument currently in use, the SENSITITRE ARIS 2x, system will be discontinued by the end of 2025. The laboratory will purchase a SENSITITRE ARIS HQ system, with all associated attachments required for proper functioning. Click here to see the specifications. |
