The Planning Toolkit is designed for leaders working with volunteer groups in their community.
The activities below can be replicated by high schoolers volunteering in their community.
Food Memory - This lesson can be used as a stand-alone or as an introduction lesson if your group plans to visit a site more than once.
Cabbage - Coming soon! This fall lesson introduces students to the benefits of cabbage as well as the community.
Big Pumpkin - The "Big Pumpkin" is a spring planting lesson that encourages planning and teamwork.
The NJ Department of Agriculture Farm to School invites high school leaders throughout NJ to take part in the second phase of the NJ Farm to School Volunteer pilot program. NJ Farm to School is looking for high schoolers to develop activities centered around our monthly Jersey Tastes! program. An ideal lesson will be easily replicable and centered around locally grown, healthy, and agricultural learning. Students are encouraged to structure their lessons around the community in which they are volunteering.
