DEPARTMENT
OF STATE
The Department of
State requests an upward salary re-evaluation for titles responsible for
registrar functions in the New Jersey State Museum.
Museum Registrars
are responsible for the maintenance and preservation of objects on loan
to the State Museum, and the recording and management of data on museum
collections and materials. The Department believes that these titles have
a greater responsibility for the management of the care, conservation
and restoration of museum objects than what is currently depicted in their
job descriptions. The Appointing Authority requests an increase in education
from a Bachelor's to a Master's degree to mirror the requirements of other
states, and become more competitive in seeking grants from foundations,
corporations and other sources.
