In 2003, the Garden State Deer Classic will be held January 9 - 12 at the Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen's Show in Edison. Sponsored by the Division of Fish and Wildlife, the Classic features the outstanding white-tailed deer harvested during the 2001-02 hunting seasons and recognizes the hunters who took them.
A highlight of the Classic is a stunning display featuring some of New Jersey's largest bucks will culminate in an awards ceremony on Sunday, January 12 at 2:30 p.m. The venue is ideal both for sportsmen and women and for exhibitors, drawing 40,000 sporting enthusiasts.
As part of the Deer Classic, Division biologists will be present the entire time to answer questions and to measure and score deer heads. The will also conduct seminars on deer management, biology and hunting, including following (date, times and additional seminars TBA):
The Classic will be held at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center, Raritan Expo Hall, in Edison. The Outdoor Show features special attractions for entire families, outdoor adventure and experts, thousands of great buys and seminars and guest speakers.
