This fall, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife has scheduled trapper education courses at several locations throughout the state for individuals wishing to harvest furbearing animals.

"The trapper education course is designed to train individuals in the responsible, effective and legal methods of harvesting and marketing furbearing animals," said Division Director Bob McDowell.

Successful completion of this course, which includes training on the body-gripping snare, enables the participant to purchase a trapping license.
