The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds spring gobbler hunters that the following local businesses have become check stations within the past year.

Red Hawk Outfitters, 128 Rt. 94, Blairstown, Warren County

Jugtown Mountain Campsites, 1074 Rt. 173, Asbury, Hunterdon County
New Providence Exxon Station, 50 South Street, New Providence, Union County

The 2000 Spring Gobbler Season in New Jersey begins on April 24 and continues for five weeks. Hunters are reminded that all harvested wild turkeys must be taken to an official checking station by 3 p.m. on the day of harvest.

The Division operates more than 50 turkey check stations throughout the state to collect valuable information on the wild turkey harvest in New Jersey. A complete list may be found in the 2000 NJ Wild Turkey Hunting Permit Application and Season Information Supplement available at hunting license agents and Division offices statewide.
