CANCELLATION OF DEER PERMIT LOTTERY FOR ZONE 37 IN FORT DIX

For more information contact:
Barbara Stoff at (609) 292-9173

According to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, the Deer Permit Lottery for Zone 37 has been canceled due to heightened security measures on Fort Dix. Hunting is still permitted on the site, however, the area has been drastically reduced in size. As a result, the number of permits has been altered to better reflect this change.

Hunters who wish to purchase permits for Zone 37 may do so at the Fort Dix Hunter Registration Office located on Range 14. Permits will be available Mondays through Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 1½ hours after sundown, and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Permits will go on sale starting Monday, October 22, 2001, and will remain on sale until they are sold out.

The lottery process for Zone 52 has not been affected. However, hunters should note that the post-lottery over-the-counter sales for Zone 52 will also take place at the Fort Dix Hunter Registration Office.

Hunters should note that all permits for Fort Dix will be available at Fort Dix only. For more information about hunting on Fort Dix please contact the Hunter Registration Office at (609) 562-4676.
