The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife will host a public meeting regarding the recently released Public Information Document for Amendment 1 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Inshore Stocks of Winter Flounder. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the Borough of Belmar Courtroom, 601 Main Street in Belmar, Monmouth County.
The document outlines several issues for public comment, including updating plan objectives and assessing habitat needs, declining reproduction, predation effects and the inshore/offshore movements of winter flounder stocks.
