Check Station Changes for Spring 2005 Wild Turkey Season Announced

Important check station changes for the 2005 Spring Wild Turkey Hunting Season have been announced. Hunters are reminded that checking in their gobbler is mandatory, and that they should use the station closest to the harvest location.

The Big K in Johnsonburg, Warren County has changed names and is now known as the Dark Moon Tavern.

Bill and Ken’s Taxidermy has moved from Keyport to a new location at 389 Rt. 79 in Morganville, Monmouth County.

Busnardo’s Sports Center in Bridgeton, Cumberland County has closed. Hunters should check their birds in at Big Daddy’s Sports Haven in Millville until a replacement station can be located.

Columbia Sport Shop in Warren County has closed. Sportsmen and women may check their turkeys at a new check station, Smitty’s Liquor and Deli, located at 89 Rte. 46 in Delaware Township.

Jackson Sporting Goods has closed. Hunters may check their birds at a new station, Just Plain Jane’s, at 581 East Veteran’s Highway (Rt. 528) in Jackson, Ocean County.

J & J Archery in Morris County has closed. Hunters may check their turkeys at a new check station, Billy Bob’s Bait and Bow, located at 808 Rt. 15 South in Lake Hopatcong, Morris County.

Slim’s Fins and Furs in Hopewell, Mercer County has closed. Turkey hunters are advised to check their turkeys at either Boan’s Marine in Lambertville or Carousel Deli in Ringoes (both Hunterdon County) until a replacement can be located.
