Biologist Honored for Leadership In Promoting Women in the Outdoors

Veteran NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife biologist Laurie Pettigrew was honored with a Leadership Award at the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey's Women and Wildlife Awards Event on April 15, 2012. The award has been presented annually since 2006 to recognize outstanding accomplishment by women in the field of wildlife conservation, education and outdoor recreation.
Laurie has been educating, and engaging, New Jersey's residents in wildlife and outdoor recreation for more than 25 years. She is the author of the New Jersey Wildlife Viewing Guide and a founder of the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program in New Jersey. Her latest contribution is a feature article on the divsion's website, Egg Island - Glades Paddling Trails.
