The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has produced a report on the status of the 2015 Comprehensive Black Bear Management Policy. The CBBMP guides the state's active, integrated bear management strategy for maintaining bears at a density that provides for a sustainable population within suitable bear habitat while minimizing human-bear conflicts and reducing emigration of bears to unsuitable habitat in suburban and urban areas. The report looks at the results of the Division's education, control and research efforts, as well as bear habitat analysis, as directed by the policy.
