The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will be holding its annual trout stocking meeting at the Pequest Trout Hatchery on Saturday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. This important meeting provides an excellent opportunity for anglers to ask questions, voice their opinions, and give suggestions regarding New Jersey's trout stocking program.
This year's meeting will include the following topics:
- 2019 Trout Allocations and Culture Operations
- Results of the Trout Stocked Movement Study in the Flat Brook - A two year study tracking the movements of stocked trout within the Big Flat/Flat Brook Catch & Release Area using radio telemetry.
- Restoration Project Updates (Rinehart Brook Trout Restoration/Spruce Run Creek Cleanup)
Suggestions for regulation changes for 2021 will be welcomed during the open discussion following the presentations. Everyone in attendance will have the chance to engage in meaningful discussion and ask questions of the biologists and fish culture staff present.
Printouts of the 2019 Trout Allocations for Trout Stocked Waterbodies will be available for all attendees.
The Pequest Trout Hatchery is located on Rt. 46 approximately nine miles west of Hackettstown in Warren County.
