Large Salmon Again Stocked in Four Lakes

October 28, 2020

The Division's Salmon Stocking Program continues with this fall's stocking of large fish from the Hackettstown State Fish Hatchery. In mid-October the Division stocked 4,325 Landlocked Atlantic Salmon, ranging from 12 to 16 inches, in four northern New Jersey lakes suitable for salmon as follows:

The daily limit is two salmon per day. Salmon (and trout) caught in Holdover Trout Lakes during the spring three-week pre-season closure preceding opening day of trout season in April must be released immediately and unharmed.

Anglers are urged to report catches of these fish by e-mailing the Bureau of Freshwater Fisheries at njfwfish@dep.nj.gov. Please attach photos of your catch.
